Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- two years of experience as a cook or equivalent in lieu of education
- food handling certification as required by state regulations
- ability to maintain high sanitation and safety standards
- good communication and teamwork skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- ability to follow dietary guidelines and therapeutic diet instructions
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- culinary arts training preferred
- two years of food service experience preferred
- minimum one year experience cooking and working in an institutional setting
- therapeutic diet experience preferred
- knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills
- ability to make independent decisions
- working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions

Job Duties
- perform a variety of duties necessary for the operation of a hospital food service department
- maintain high standards of food quality, nutritional value of food, sanitation, safety and present food in an appetizing manner
- prepare meals in compliance with therapeutic diet requirements and patient needs
- adhere to state regulations including food handling certifications
- monitor food inventory and storage to ensure freshness and prevent contamination
- collaborate with dietary and healthcare staff to meet patient dietary restrictions and preferences
- comply with regulatory standards and safety procedures
