We are currently seeking a full-time Cook to join our dedicated food service team. In this role, you will play a vital part in improving the daily lives of our residents by preparing delicious, nutritious, and visually appealing meals that meet federal, state, and local food safety standards as well as Benchmark’s established policies and procedures. A Cook at Benchmark is not just a food preparer; they are a key contributor to the overall well-being and satisfaction of the community's residents. Your culinary skills will directly affect the lives of the elderly residents, many of whom rely on carefully tailored meals to maintain their health and wellness.
As a Benchmark Cook, your responsibilities involve ensuring every meal is prepared and served with high standards of quality and food safety. You must have the ability to operate a wide array of kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including meat slicers, food processors, mixers, ovens, grills, steamers, dishwashers, dumbwaiters, and warmer cabinets. Timeliness is crucial, as you will assist in organizing the food production line to guarantee meals are ready when scheduled. You will also represent the community with pride and a positive attitude, especially when interacting with potential residents and their families, helping to create a welcoming and professional impression.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- culinary arts training preferred
- 2 years of dietary experience
- must have knowledge of dietary procedures, as well as related laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to food service operations
- must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel
- be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- this is primarily a standing position, may need to stand in one place for extended periods of time
Job Qualifications

- assists in establishing food production line to ensure meals are prepared on time
- represents the community with a positive attitude and pride when interacting with potential residents and families
- prepares and serves nutritious meals, ensuring high-quality presentation and flavorful meals for our residents
