The role of Cook at Arden Courts is vital in delivering an excellent dining experience tailored to the nutritional needs of elderly residents. This position involves preparing appetizing and nutritious meals that meet residents' dietary requirements and preferences, while maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable kitchen environment. The Cook assists the Culinary Services Coordinator in managing food service operations, ensuring all meals are prepared in compliance with safety and sanitation standards. Attention to detail, tact, and professionalism are key attributes needed to succeed in this role, as the Cook not only contributes to the health and satisfaction of residents but also supports a positive dining atmosphere that reflects the organization's industry-leading service standards. With previous experience in food preparation and familiarity with working in elderly care settings — especially experience with dementia patients — being preferred, this role holds significant importance in the quality of life of Arden Courts residents. This position is subject to additional background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, emphasizing Arden Courts’ commitment to resident safety and regulatory compliance. To be successful, the Cook should have a Food Service Sanitation certificate in accordance with state or local regulations, be physically capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds, and possess basic English communication skills. By joining Arden Courts as a Cook, candidates will be part of a supportive, inclusive workplace dedicated to equality and diversity, aligned with ADAAA standards, and fostering career growth in a mission-driven environment.
