The role of Cook at Arden Courts is vital in delivering high-quality nutritional support to residents. As a Cook, you will prepare appetizing and nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of elderly residents. You will assist the Culinary Services Coordinator with managing food service functions, ensuring all meals are prepared in a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. This position requires tact, sensitivity, and professionalism to provide excellent service and meet the unique needs of the population served, including those with memory impairments such as dementia. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food preparation required
- Knowledge and experience working with elderly and previous dementia experience preferred
- Food Service Sanitation certificate according to state or local requirements
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Ability to speak English in an understandable manner
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food preparation
- Knowledge and experience working with elderly individuals
- Previous dementia care experience preferred
- Food Service Sanitation certificate according to state or local requirements
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Ability to speak English understandably
