As a Cook at Arden Courts, you play a vital role in supporting the Culinary Services team by preparing nutritious and appetizing meals tailored specifically to the dietary needs of elderly residents. This role requires more than just culinary skills; it demands a sensitive and professional demeanor to handle the special requirements of seniors, including those with dementia, ensuring their meal experience contributes positively to their overall well-being. A Cook at Arden Courts assists the Culinary Services Coordinator with managing food service operations, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and delivering excellent service. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation required
  • Knowledge and experience in working with elderly
  • Previous dementia experience preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Basic reading and writing skills
  • Ability to speak English in an understandable manner

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation
  • Knowledge and experience working with elderly individuals
  • Preferred experience with dementia care
  • Food Service Sanitation certificate according to State/Local requirements
