The Cook role at Arden Courts is integral to the Culinary Services team and involves preparing appetizing and nutritious meals tailored to the specific dietary needs of the elderly residents. The position requires a high level of food safety awareness and attention to detail to ensure compliance with state and local food service sanitation standards. The Cook works closely with the Culinary Services Coordinator to assist in managing various food service functions, ensuring that meal delivery is timely and consistent with established guidelines. Physical stamina is essential as the role involves prolonged periods of standing, walking, and performing physical movements such as bending and squatting, as well as lifting items up to 50 pounds. Strong communication skills, basic reading and writing abilities, and proficiency in English are necessary to effectively execute job responsibilities and maintain high standards of service. Previous food preparation experience is required, and knowledge of working with elderly individuals, particularly those with dementia, is preferred. Job Requirements

- previous experience in food preparation required
- knowledge and experience in working with elderly and previous dementia experience preferred
- food service sanitation certificate according to state or local requirements
- ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
- ability to easily lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
