The company prides itself on its ownership mindset, community involvement, and dedication to enriching the lives of those it serves. Its customer base includes many Fortune 500 companies, reflecting the trust and reliability Eurest has built over the years. Eurest's promise to "connect with people, inspire through food, create solutions, and live our promise" embodies the organization's ethos and drives its operations worldwide.
Eurest is currently seeking to fill both full-time and part-time Cook positions at its Helio Elements Syracuse location in Liverpool, NY. This opportunity offers competitive pay ranging from $21.00 to $22.00 per hour, with an immediate start date. The schedule includes weekend shifts from Friday through Sunday, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, but more detailed scheduling information will be provided during the interview process. Alongside a welcoming work environment, Eurest offers an internal employee referral bonus as part of its comprehensive employment package.
The Cook role at Eurest involves preparing food adhering strictly to federal, state, and corporate standards to ensure all regulations and policies regarding food safety and service quality are met. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals using standardized recipes, managing food portion sizes, maintaining proper food temperatures, and ensuring the visual appeal and taste of all dishes. Additionally, duties include tasting food items to guarantee quality, following ticket collection protocols during service, and keeping accurate records related to the area worked.
The role requires a rigorous commitment to cleanliness and safety, including cleaning kitchen workspaces, managing food storage safely by refrigerating or discarding excess items as per guidelines, and maintaining organized storage areas. Proper operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment are also essential duties. Candidates will assist with inventory management tasks such as production planning, order receiving, and record keeping. Monitoring the kitchen environment for equipment maintenance needs or safety hazards and reporting them to supervisors promptly is also part of the responsibilities.
Eurest emphasizes continuous professional development and safety awareness, with mandatory participation in in-service and safety meetings. The company fosters strong teamwork and customer service dynamics, encouraging positive relationships among coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers. The Cook position demands strict adherence to company safety policies, including the mandatory use of protective gloves when handling sharp utensils, oven mitts when managing hot items, and slip-resistant footwear to prevent workplace accidents.
This role offers meaningful opportunities for career growth within a major foodservice organization, alongside a range of benefits. Full-time and part-time employees can access retirement plans, associate shopping programs, health and wellness initiatives, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and various voluntary insurance options. Full-time staff enjoy additional benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, and flexible spending accounts. Eurest also provides paid and unpaid time off where applicable under legal regulations.
Eurest values diversity, equity, and inclusion, pledging to provide equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other protected classifications. The company is committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace and complying with fair chance hiring laws in various jurisdictions. Candidates are encouraged to apply promptly as applications are accepted on a rolling basis until positions are filled, with future opportunities available for those not selected initially.
Joining Eurest means becoming part of a global team dedicated to culinary excellence, customer satisfaction, and community impact. If you have at least three years of line and batch cooking experience and seek a rewarding role with a prestigious industry leader, this Cook position at Eurest's Helio Elements Syracuse site offers an ideal career path with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits in a supportive environment.
