This immediate opening is based in Hampstead, NC, and offers a competitive pay rate of $16.50 per hour. The role is designed for individuals with at least one year of cooking experience who are passionate about maintaining high standards in food preparation and kitchen hygiene. As a cook at Culinary Services Group, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items following standardized recipes and operational guidelines, ensuring that all culinary outputs meet strict quality, safety, and presentation standards. You will play a key role in meal preparation and service by using correct portion sizes, verifying food temperatures, and ensuring the meals are not only tasty but also visually appealing.
Beyond cooking, you will be accountable for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen, including refrigerators and storage areas, and properly handling any leftover food. The role requires proficiency in operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, supporting inventory management tasks such as ordering and receiving supplies, and keeping accurate production records. Safety is paramount at CSG, so adherence to company safety policies, including the use of protective gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques, is mandatory.

Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Tastes all prepared food items
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- Responsible for records from area worked during service periods
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat
- Ensures food and supply items are stored per standards
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
- Assists in ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
- Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
