Job Description

Sagewood is a distinguished senior living community located in the beautiful Northeast Phoenix Valley, just off Tatum Boulevard and Mayo Boulevard, south of the Desert Ridge shopping area. Operated by Life Care Services, the nation’s premier provider of senior living, Sagewood offers resort-style living combined with exceptional care services for its residents. It is strategically positioned near numerous restaurants, shopping centers, and major healthcare facilities, including Mayo Clinic and Hospital. As a part of this vibrant and supportive community, Sagewood emphasizes quality of life and well-being for its senior residents, making it a sought-after destination for both living and working.

This full-time Cook position with Sagewood presents an exceptional opportunity to enjoy your passion for cooking while maintaining a balanced lifestyle, with a guaranteed home by 9:00 PM and no late-night shifts. The role involves preparing and serving delicious, nutritious meals tailored to the needs and preferences of senior residents, utilizing your culinary skills and knowledge of commercial kitchen operations. Scheduled shifts vary between early morning (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) and afternoon to early evening (11:30 AM - 8:00 PM), including occasional weekends and holidays, to support the dining needs of Sagewood community members throughout the day. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour, an attractive salary for a hardworking and dedicated culinary professional.

Your primary responsibilities as a Cook will include meal preparation, plating, and ensuring the kitchen environment adheres to strict sanitary and safety standards. Working closely with the culinary team, you will help create an exceptional dining experience that supports residents’ nutritional needs and enhances their quality of life. The role requires physical stamina, as you'll spend long periods standing and occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, all within a dynamic restaurant-style kitchen environment.

Sagewood fosters an inclusive, supportive team atmosphere where professional development and continuous learning are encouraged. The community offers comprehensive orientation programs and ongoing training to help you excel in your role. This supportive environment ensures you can grow your career while achieving a positive work-life balance, reinforced by the absence of late-night shifts and a steady schedule. Additionally, the position requires adherence to safety protocols, including mandatory flu vaccination, a valid Arizona Food Handlers Card, drug screening, and background checks, reflecting Sagewood's commitment to residents' health and safety.

Joining Sagewood means becoming part of a respected organization that values passion, dedication, and culinary excellence. If you have a love for cooking and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen setting, this full-time Cook position offers a rewarding career path where your talents can truly make a difference every day.
