Flik Independent School Dining (FISD) is a recognized leader in transforming private and independent school foodservice across more than 300 communities for over forty years. As a division of Compass Group, the global leader in foodservice management and support services, FISD is dedicated to delivering exceptional foodservice experiences that nurture the health and well-being of students and staff. With a strong focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and sustainable agricultural practices, FISD commits to not only providing nutritious meals but also equipping students with educational programs that promote healthy, smart eating habits and overall wellness. This approach underscores the company's core mission to nourish the whole person and create community through great food and innovative programming. The workplace culture at FISD values diversity of thought and fosters an inclusive environment where all associates feel supported and empowered to contribute their best work. This commitment is reflected in their hiring processes and daily operations, ensuring that every team member plays a pivotal role in their collective success. Based at Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this full-time cook position is integral to the vibrant foodservice operation at the school, working Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. The role offers a competitive hourly wage between $16.00 and $17.00, along with perks such as free uniforms, meals during shifts, and paid time off. The position requires previous professional cooking experience, ideally in a fast-paced, quality-focused kitchen environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a passionate team that values professionalism, safety, and food quality while contributing to a positive dining experience for students and staff. Continuous training, safety meetings, and team support reinforce the importance of maintaining high standards in food preparation and kitchen operations. The cook role involves preparing meals adhering to federal, state, and company regulations, ensuring tastiness and attractiveness, proper portion control, and food safety compliance following HACCP standards. This is a hands-on position that demands responsibility for cleanliness, proper equipment use, inventory control, and effective communication with supervisors and coworkers. FISD stands out as a company that prioritizes employee well-being through a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and more – reflecting its commitment to supporting associates beyond the kitchen. This position is well suited for individuals passionate about culinary arts and student nutrition who are looking to make a meaningful impact within a respected institution.
