The current opening is for a full-time Cook position at the prestigious American Express Centurion Lounge located within Philadelphia International Airport. This role operates under a third shift schedule from 8:00 pm to 4:30 am, offering a fixed hourly pay rate of $21.00. The Cook will be integral to preparing high-quality food in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring that all meals served meet rigorous safety, presentation, and taste requirements. Beyond food preparation, the position demands attention to kitchen cleanliness, safe food storage, proper handling of kitchen equipment, and active participation in record-keeping and inventory management. This role requires previous kitchen experience and a commitment to maintaining a safe and high-standard work environment, including adherence to company safety policies such as the use of protective gloves and slip-resistant footwear.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous kitchen experience is required
  • Ability to work third shift hours from 8:00 pm to 4:30 am
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to kitchen work
  • Adherence to safety policies including use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
  • Serve meals or prepare food for delivery using correct portioning and ensuring proper temperature and presentation
  • Taste all prepared food items to ensure quality
  • Use established ticket collection procedures during service
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and work areas after preparation and serving
  • Store or discard excess food following safe food-handling procedures
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assist in production planning, record keeping, reporting, and ordering of food and supplies
  • Report maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers and management
  • Ensure personal commitment to safety and adherence to company safety policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
