Job Description

Helio Health is a dedicated behavioral health organization committed to promoting recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral health challenges. Founded with a mission to provide comprehensive support and compassionate care, Helio Health offers a range of services aimed at helping individuals rebuild their lives through therapeutic interventions, community support, and structured residential programs. The organization is known for its integrated approach that combines clinical expertise with community-oriented care to foster sustainable recovery. Their Residential Programs provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can focus on their recovery journey while receiving essential services including nutritious meals, skill development, and counseling.

The role of Cook at Helio Health is a full-time position focused on preparing and serving nutritious meals to residents living in the Community Residence, part of Helio Health’s Residential Programs. This position plays a crucial role in supporting residents’ overall well-being by ensuring that meals meet nutritional standards and individual dietary needs. The Cook works closely with the Team Leader and Residence Manager, maintaining clear communication about workload and inventory needs. The role also involves general kitchen maintenance, monitoring supplies and equipment, and engaging in Quality Assurance activities to uphold agency policies and regulatory compliance. With a schedule of Monday through Friday during daytime hours and a competitive pay rate of $19.57 per hour, the position is designed for individuals passionate about food service and contributing positively to a behavioral health environment.

Helio Health values its employees and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a sign-on incentive of up to $1,500, health insurance for employees and their families (including dental and vision), paid vacation and sick leave with no waiting period for accrual, paid holidays including a floating birthday holiday, a 401(k) plan with company matching up to 5%, company-paid short-term disability insurance, company-sponsored life insurance, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The organization fosters an inclusive work environment and provides equal employment opportunities regardless of race, sex, age, disability, or other protected categories.

This Cook position is ideal for candidates who have food service experience, understand infection control procedures, can perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods, and have strong communication skills both verbally and in writing. The Cook will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, keeping inventory adequately stocked to meet menu plans, and collaborating effectively with kitchen staff to guarantee quality assurance. This is not just a meal preparation role but a vital support function within a health-focused community helping individuals on their recovery path.
