Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Food Protection Manager's Certification from an accredited ANSI-CFP program mandatory within 90 days of hire
  • One year’s experience in quantity food preparation setting
  • Full understanding of therapeutic diets preferred
  • Able to read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Good and regular attendance
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to operate food service equipment safely
  • Understanding of infection control and safety techniques

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Food Protection Manager's Certification or ServSafe preferred
  • One year's experience in quantity food preparation settings
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and texture/liquid modification
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use menu management systems
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and lead when assigned
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and city food safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Prepare food following department standardized recipes, planned menus, and policies
  • Serve and portion food per department standardized recipes and patient diet orders
  • Use production sheets to direct food preparation and quantity
  • Label and store food properly according to policies
  • Take and record refrigerator and freezer temperatures twice daily
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and verifying food supplies
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment using proper sanitation and infection control techniques
