Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring physical effort
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including days and hours that may vary
  • Compliance with company safety policies
  • Ability to use cut gloves and oven mitts as required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety guidelines
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
  • Willingness to participate in safety training and in-service meetings
  • Ability to work varied shifts including 1st and 3rd shifts

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, temperature, and presentation
  • Tastes all prepared food items to ensure quality
  • Cleans kitchen and stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping, ordering, and receiving food and supplies
  • Reports maintenance issues, attends safety meetings, maintains good working relationships, and performs other assigned duties
