Job Description

Eurest is a globally recognized leader in the foodservice industry, known for delivering exceptional standards of service and excellence. As a company, Eurest embraces an ownership mindset and leverages both global resources and a strong local presence to enrich the communities it serves. The company proudly collaborates with some of the world’s most respected and successful corporations, including many Fortune 500 companies, to provide quality foodservice solutions. Eurest’s brand promise — to connect with people, inspire through food, create solutions, and live their promise — exemplifies the company’s commitment to its clients and associates alike. This commitment creates an engaging, reliable, and inclusive workplace that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Currently, Eurest invites motivated individuals to join their team as a full-time Cook at the Eurest JLL location in Vacaville, California. The position operates on a consistent weekday schedule from Monday to Friday, with working hours from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm. Successful candidates will receive competitive pay ranging from $21.00 to $23.00 per hour, alongside eligibility for an internal employee referral bonus. The hiring process is streamlined for convenience, with online applications accepted exclusively and no need for paper submissions.

The Cook role at Eurest is vital to maintaining the high standards of food preparation and service the company is known for. The position is designed for those with at least two years of cooking and preparation experience, including competent knife skills. The cook will prepare food in strict accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards, adhering to established policies and procedures. The role emphasizes producing high-quality food items following standardized recipes and instructions to satisfy production deadlines, service schedules, and client expectations.

Key responsibilities include preparing and serving meals with correct portioning, ensuring attractive presentation and appropriate serving temperatures, and following stringent food safety standards including HACCP guidelines. The cook is also responsible for tasting all prepared items to ensure quality before service. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen environment — including kitchen equipment, refrigerators, and storerooms — is an essential part of the daily duties to uphold health and safety standards. Additional tasks include assisting with production planning, record keeping, food ordering, equipment maintenance reporting, and active participation in safety meetings.

Eurest also stresses workplace safety, expecting employees to use protective gear such as medium-weight cut-resistant gloves when handling sharp tools, as well as oven mitts and slip-resistant footwear. The company fosters a collaborative work environment where cooks maintain positive relationships with coworkers, customers, and management. This position requires a personal commitment to safety, cleanliness, and excellence in food preparation.

Benefits for Eurest associates include a comprehensive package that supports overall well-being and work-life balance. Full-time and part-time employees can access retirement plans, health and wellness programs, associate shopping discounts, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and various voluntary insurance options such as critical illness and accident insurance. Full-time employees additionally receive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, and flexible spending accounts. Paid and unpaid time off benefits are also available in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.

Eurest is committed to equal employment opportunity and diversity in its workforce. The company encourages applicants from all backgrounds and protects the rights of qualified individuals with criminal histories under relevant fair chance hiring laws.
