The role offered is for a full-time Cook at Miami Valley Hospital, working from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm with rotating weekends and holidays. This position offers a fixed pay rate of $18.00 per hour and includes uniform provision and training opportunities, making it accessible even for candidates new to the role. The Cook will prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and company standards, ensuring that meals meet the highest standards of quality, presentation, and safety. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing meals by following standardized recipes, portioning food correctly, maintaining safe temperatures, and ensuring food is attractive and tasty. The Cook will also engage in cleaning and maintaining the kitchen environment, proper storage of food, and using kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. A critical aspect of this role involves following health and safety regulations such as HACCP standards and company safety policies, including using protective gloves and slip-resistant footwear. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in food service preferred
- Ability to work full time including rotating weekends and holidays
- Willingness to follow safety protocols and wear protective gear
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
- Availability to work the scheduled hours of 11:30 am to 8:00 pm
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare food service environment

Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Tastes all prepared food items
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- Responsible for records from area worked during service periods
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
