The company is currently seeking a full-time Cook to join its culinary team at the Wesley Woods St. John Tower located at 724 Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30901. This role offers a fixed pay rate of $15.00 per hour and involves a full-time schedule with hours and days that may vary, including rotating weekends. As a Cook with Morrison Living, you will play a crucial role in preparing food that meets federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring that quality food services are consistently delivered. The responsibilities include preparing high-quality food items following standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules. Serving meals with attention to portion control, correct temperature, and appealing presentation is essential. The role requires tasting prepared food items to maintain high culinary standards and adhering to established ticket collection procedures during service.
Maintaining cleanliness and safety within the kitchen environment is a key aspect of the job, including cleaning kitchen areas after preparation and serving, storing or discarding excess food according to safe food-handling procedures, and ensuring refrigerators and storerooms are clean and well-organized. The Cook also operates and maintains kitchen equipment, assists in production planning, record keeping, ordering, and receiving food and supplies. Promptly reporting maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents is mandatory for workplace safety.
In addition to the daily duties, the Cook is expected to participate in in-service and safety meetings, uphold good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers, and adhere to all company policies related to safety and hygiene practices. This includes the use of personal protective equipment such as cut gloves, oven mitts, and slip-resistant shoes, as well as proper lifting techniques to ensure a safe work environment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior cooking experience preferred
- Ability to work full-time with flexible hours including weekends
- Capability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Must comply with safety regulations including use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
- Able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
