The Full-Time Cook position at Gulf Coast Village Assisted Living offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about delivering high-quality food services in an assisted living environment. This role is designed for individuals who take pride in their cooking skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain high standards of food preparation while adhering to healthcare regulations. The position involves preparing food items using standardized recipes, meeting quantity and deadline requirements, and ensuring that all meals comply with dietary regulations and community standards.
Working a full 40-hour week, the schedule includes flexible shifts that may vary between morning (7am to 3pm) and evening hours (10am to 6:30pm), with weekend shifts as part of the rotation. Competitive wages are offered based on experience, reflecting Gulf Coast Village's commitment to rewarding skill and dedication. The role also provides opportunities to step in for the Executive Chef when necessary, offering valuable leadership experience and career growth within the culinary team.
The Cook plays a vital role in coordinating meal production with serving hours, ensuring that food quality, temperature, taste, and portioning meet or exceed hospitality and service standards of the community. Alongside food preparation, this position involves important responsibilities such as documenting temperature logs, taste panel forms, and cleaning schedules to maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Employees must be familiar with and follow all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling and comply with healthcare regulations applicable to assisted living settings.

Job Duties
- Prepares food items using standardized recipes in a timely manner
- determines food and supplies needed and coordinate meal production with serving hours
- prepares all special dietary need as directed by the menus
- monitors all food items to see that at least the minimum guidelines for temperature, taste, and quality are upheld at all times
- ensures the proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and standardized recipes
- assists with proper documentation of temperature logs, taste panel forms, and cleaning schedules
- follows all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling
