In the role of Food and Beverage team member, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals, managing food stocks, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation adhering strictly to Memphis and Shelby County health codes. Responsibilities include portioning food using standardized recipes, setting up cafeteria service lines, and ensuring food presentation that is both attractive and nutritious. Additional duties involve assisting guests, processing cash transactions, and engaging in special events and catering services when necessary. Your ability to work efficiently under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and show tactfulness in interactions is essential to the success of your role. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and lift up to fifty pounds. Uniform compliance and adherence to health and safety regulations, including wearing a hair net, are mandatory.

Job Requirements
- Ability to stoop, reach, walk and stand for long periods of time
- ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50lbs
- speak clearly and distinctly
- uniform is required
- hair net must be worn
- must follow and have knowledge of health codes and requirements
- must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
- willingness to work variable/flexible hours including weekends, holidays, evenings, and overtime as needed
- must be eligible to work legally in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of Memphis and Shelby County health codes
- ability to bake and cook a variety of food
- demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of proper techniques for food preparation
- ability to accurately handle money and cash transactions
- skill to operate and clean various restaurant equipment
- ability to work quietly and accurately under constant pressure of often conflicting deadlines and numerous interruptions
- ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity
- organizational skills to determine workload in a timely manner
- must be able to exercise tact and diplomacy during discussions with individuals
- some knowledge of catering helpful
Job Duties
- Responsible for cooking and preparing meals as needed including special events and other meetings
- stock products using proper procedures
- clean and sanitize work area
- weigh, measure, and portion food according to department procedure
- assist with evaluating leftovers
- label, date and store food properly
- prepare food according to standardized recipes in correct amount
- create new ways to present food attractively and nutritiously
- set up cafeteria food line
- carry out the master menu plan and adjust when required or directed
- schedule food preparation on time for serving, but not too far in advance
- serve hot food attractively and efficiently
- take and process orders
- complete cash transactions
- assist guests with questions and needs
- abide by Memphis and Shelby County health codes as well as Graceland's policies and procedures
- bus, cashier, work food line, and other duties as assigned
