The cook must have a thorough understanding of modified diets and work closely with the Registered Dietitian to provide nutrition services that contribute to quality patient care. This collaborative effort ensures that every meal not only complies with dietary restrictions but also supports the overall health and satisfaction of those served. The cook is also responsible for coordinating daily dietary operations alongside the Food Service Director to maintain smooth and efficient service delivery. Preparing, seasoning, and cooking food for various hospital needs—including patients, employees, visitors, and special occasions—is a fundamental part of this role.

The role demands knowledge and experience in commercial or institutional food preparation, with a preference for candidates holding an associate degree or equivalent in Culinary Arts or similar educational background. Additionally, the Food Management Certificate is mandatory within six months of employment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and reinforce food safety knowledge. This job is considered safety sensitive, underscoring the importance of adhering to strict operational protocols.

The position emphasizes teamwork, nutrition-focused food preparation, and adherence to strict food safety regulations.
