Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in high-volume cooking preferred
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 5:00 am to 2:00 pm with rotating weekends
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety protocols
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform kitchen duties
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must comply with all safety guidelines including use of protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Previous high volume batch cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to prepare food in accordance with federal, state and corporate standards
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices including HACCP standards
  • Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely
  • Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
  • Ability to work rotating weekends
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serve meals or prepare for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Taste all prepared food items to assure quality
  • Use established ticket collection procedures during service
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen after preparation and serving, adhering to high standards
  • Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
  • Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies
  • Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents immediately
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • Follow all company policies and procedures including the use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
