We are currently seeking full-time Cook positions at our EC5 Cafe located at 915 North Eldridge Parkway, Houston, TX 77079. This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for steady, consistent work hours in a supportive team environment. You will adhere strictly to all federal, state, and corporate guidelines to ensure food safety and sanitation throughout the preparation and serving process. This role also demands effective communication and teamwork skills, as collaboration with fellow kitchen staff and management is key to maintaining an efficient foodservice operation.

Job Requirements
- Prior cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen, cafe, or foodservice operation
- ability to work full-time Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm
- ability to follow food safety standards and procedures
- ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods and lifting
- willingness to adhere to company policies including safety protocols
- ability to pass any required pre-employment screenings

Job Duties
- Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
- serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning and ensuring proper temperature and presentation
- taste all prepared food items for quality control
- clean kitchen after preparation and serving maintaining high cleanliness standards
- store or discard excess food according to safe food-handling procedures
- operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
- assist in production planning, record keeping, reporting, ordering and receiving food and supplies
- report maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents immediately
- attend in-service and safety meetings
- maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
- perform job safely and maintain a clean, safe work environment
- ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- use safety equipment such as medium weight cut gloves, oven mitts, fryer gloves, and slip-resistant shoes
