Job Requirements

  • One year of previous batch cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to work full-time or part-time with rotating weekends
  • Availability to work assigned shifts between 5:00am - 1:00pm or 11:30am - 7:30pm
  • Ability to comply with food safety and handling regulations
  • Capable of maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Willingness to wear required protective gloves and equipment
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights safely
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Adherence to company drug-free workplace policy

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of one year batch cooking or equivalent culinary experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare food service environment
  • Basic math skills for portion control and record keeping
  • Willingness to participate in required in-service and safety training
  • Team-oriented with strong work ethic

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and attractive
  • Tastes all prepared food items
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
  • Follows HACCP standards
  • Abides by company policies including the proper use of protective gloves, oven mitts, and slip-resistant shoes
