Job Requirements
- Two years of previous cooking experience required
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety procedures
- Ability to work varied schedules including days and hours that may vary
- Capability to maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation in the kitchen
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform kitchen tasks safely
- Compliance with company policies including safety protocols
- Must be able to work in a healthcare foodservice environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of previous cooking experience
- Ability to prepare food following federal, state and corporate standards
- Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen cleanliness
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships
- Basic understanding of equipment operation and maintenance
- Familiarity with portion control and temperature standards
- Commitment to safety and use of protective gear
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Tastes all prepared food items
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- Responsible for records from area worked during service periods
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
