We are currently seeking both full-time and part-time cooks to join our team at Ascension Seton Williamson. This role involves preparing high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and safety standards to ensure that patients, visitors, and staff receive nutritious and appealing meals. The schedule includes shifts from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm and 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm with rotating weekends, providing flexibility and variety in work hours. The pay range for this position is from $18.00 to $19.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of experience and quality work in a healthcare hospitality setting.
The cook position at Ascension Seton Williamson requires a minimum of two years experience in large volume cooking, emphasizing the ability to handle high demand and maintain excellent food safety practices. Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals at the correct temperature and portion sizes, ensuring presentation standards, managing kitchen cleanliness, and storing food safely. The role also involves equipment operation, assisting with production planning, record-keeping, and inventory management. Job Requirements
- Two years of large volume cooking experience required
- Ability to work full-time or part-time schedules
- Willingness to work rotating weekends
- Ability to work shifts from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
- Must comply with company safety policies including use of protective gloves and shoes
- Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning and maintaining proper temperature
- Tastes all prepared food items to ensure quality and flavor
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
- Ensures food and supply items are stored properly
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
- Assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies
- Reports maintenance needs, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- Follows company safety policies including use of cut gloves and slip-resistant shoes
- Performs other duties as assigned
