The Cook position at Boise State campus is an immediate opening for full-time and part-time team members ready to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Located at 1910 W University Drive in Boise, Idaho, this role is crucial in ensuring that all food prepared meets strict safety, quality, and presentation guidelines. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food items using standardized recipes, ensuring portions are correct and meals meet temperature and attractiveness standards. The role involves working closely within a team to maintain cleanliness and safety, handling and storing food supplies properly, and supporting kitchen operations such as equipment maintenance and inventory tasks.

This position is offered at an hourly rate between $18.00 and $21.00, depending on experience and shift schedules. Job Requirements

  • Must have prior experience in a high-volume and fast-paced service
  • Ability to adhere to safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work flexible full or part-time shifts
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing for long periods and working in hot environments
  • Must be able to follow company policies and procedures including the use of gloves and protective equipment
  • Availability to work in Boise, ID location

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
