Job Description

Gallaher Signature Living is a distinguished senior living community dedicated to redefining what it means to age gracefully with compassion, elegance, and excellence. Established with a commitment to providing more than just traditional senior living, Gallaher Signature Living delivers personalized experiences that enrich the daily lives of its residents and foster meaningful connections within a warm and supportive community. Operating across several locations in California, including Santa Rosa, Alameda, Moorpark, and Covina, the company serves active adults through Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care programs. Each community is thoughtfully designed to offer an inviting environment where residents enjoy high-quality services paired with a boutique-style ambiance. The organization is headquartered in Windsor, California, and continues to expand its footprint while building a team of passionate professionals focused on the future of senior living.

The position of Cook at Gallaher Signature Living is pivotal in creating a hospitality-driven dining experience that meets the high standards expected by residents, guests, and team members alike. As part of the culinary team, the Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals in accordance with approved menus, standardized recipes, and strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including California Title 22 standards. This role emphasizes maintaining food safety, sanitation, and quality, ensuring that every meal is nutritious, flavorful, and visually appealing. The Cook contributes to a polished and elegant dining environment reflective of the community’s boutique nature.

This role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.50 to $21.50 and involves preparing soups, appetizers, entrées, side dishes, and desserts with attention to detail and consistency. The Cook works closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and the broader culinary team to ensure timely food production aligned with meal service schedules, tackle special dietary needs, and maintain rigorous portion control. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities such as inventory management, compliance with sanitation guidelines, reporting safety concerns, and participating in ongoing training programs.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses a passion for food preparation, exceptional organizational skills, and a calm, respectful demeanor, especially when interacting with older adults, including those with cognitive impairments. They must be adaptable, take initiative, and demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of their work. In addition to culinary skills, the Cook must maintain required certifications such as Food Handler’s certification, First Aid, and CPR, and meet all health screening and background check requirements.

Working at Gallaher Signature Living means joining an organization committed to equal employment opportunities and inclusive practices. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time team members, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, 401(k) plans with employer match, paid time off, paid holidays, and extensive training and career advancement opportunities. The Cook position is more than a job; it is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a community dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors through exceptional dining and care. Those joining the team can expect a supportive, engaging environment that values professionalism, teamwork, and the continuous pursuit of excellence in senior living culinary services.
