Job Description
Gallaher Signature Living is a distinguished senior living provider committed to redefining the concept of aging by offering exceptional, personalized living experiences to older adults across California. Established with a foundation of compassion, elegance, and excellence, this company provides a warm and supportive environment that goes beyond traditional senior living. They operate multiple residential communities across Santa Rosa, Alameda, Moorpark, and Covina, focusing on Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services tailored to meet the unique needs of their residents. Gallaher Signature Living emphasizes fostering meaningful connections and enriching daily life through thoughtful designs and high-quality services. Their mission highlights a dedication to creating boutique-style settings that reflect both sophistication and care, making each community feel like home for its residents.
The Cook position at Gallaher Signature Living plays an essential role in delivering a refined and hospitality-driven dining experience to residents, guests, and team members. This role focuses on preparing and presenting high-quality meals aligned with approved menus and standardized recipes, adhering strictly to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including California Title 22. The Cook's responsibilities range from the preparation of soups, appetizers, entrées, vegetables, side dishes, and desserts to managing special meal requests and dietary modifications, ensuring that all food served meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and sanitation. This role requires attention to detail in food handling, storage, and service, maintaining a clean and orderly environment that mirrors the boutique nature of the community. The position offers an hourly wage between $19.50 and $21.50, underlining the company's commitment to valuing skilled culinary professionals who contribute to the overall wellness and satisfaction of the community.
The Cook will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations, effective inventory management, and efficient food production timing to preserve freshness and presentation quality. Beyond culinary tasks, this role also demands adherence to comprehensive safety protocols, including illness prevention, bloodborne pathogen control, and emergency preparedness, aligning with Gallaher Signature Living's rigorous health and safety standards. A strong emphasis is placed on professionalism, respectful interaction with older adults, including those with cognitive impairments, and a polished presence during tours and special events, supporting the company's marketing and community outreach efforts. The role encourages continuous learning and compliance with food handler certifications, first aid, CPR, and ongoing training, ensuring both personal growth and operational excellence within the culinary department.
