This particular role is for a Cook within Aramark, working on the PM shift from 4:30 PM to 12:30 AM, where the successful candidate will be a key player in bringing recipes to life with creativity and passion for food. As a Cook, you will be immersed in a dynamic environment surrounded by fresh ingredients and top-quality equipment, enabling you to experiment with various cuisines, flavors, and cooking styles. The role goes far beyond mere food preparation; it emphasizes cooking with safety and quality as a priority, according to established production guidelines and Aramark's safety procedures. You will have the opportunity to develop new skills and implement best practices in food handling, sanitation, and preparation techniques.

Working at Aramark as a Cook involves a blend of culinary creativity and disciplined execution, from prepping ingredients by measuring and chopping to operating ovens, stoves, and other kitchen equipment. Your responsibility will include cooking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and garnishing menu items, ensuring not only taste but also beautiful presentation. There is a strong focus on food safety and sanitation, maintaining clean and sanitary workstations, utensils, and equipment. The Cook role also includes upholding excellent customer service by maintaining a positive demeanor when interacting with guests, coworkers, and clients. At Aramark, you are supported with all the essential tools and guidelines, enabling you to deliver great food safely and efficiently.

Additionally, this position requires physical stamina as it involves tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required to ensure safety compliance. The Cook will work in a fast-paced setting where duties may shift based on client needs, demanding adaptability and a team-oriented mindset. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations and practices
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math skills
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability to perform job including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses various cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers
  • adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • ensures security of company assets
