Within this extensive network, Inland Northwest Behavioral Health Hospital represents a groundbreaking collaborative effort between Universal Health Services and Providence Health Services. As the first free-standing mental health hospital in Spokane, Washington, this hospital is dedicated to meeting the specialized behavioral health needs of its local community through compassionate care and innovative treatment approaches. This facility emphasizes supporting patient recovery in a safe and therapeutic environment that adheres to strict behavioral health safety protocols.

This opening is for a skilled, mission-driven Cook who will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of meals served within this behavioral health setting. This position offers a temporary full-time opportunity with shifts ranging from 32 to 40 hours weekly, including weekend coverage. Starting pay is competitive, ranging from $20.00 to $30.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of culinary expertise in supporting patient well-being.

The Cook’s principal responsibility involves preparing fresh, appealing, and nutritious meals that not only meet patients’ therapeutic dietary requirements but also contribute to their overall healing and comfort. The role requires close collaboration with dietitians and other dietary department staff to ensure consistent delivery of patient-centered food service that aligns with behavioral health standards. In addition to meal preparation, the Cook will contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and regulatory-compliant kitchen environment, supporting inventory management, and assisting with food preparation duties across the dietary team.

This position demands a high degree of culinary skill, professionalism, and dedication to enhancing the patient experience through food service. The cook will uphold high standards for food quality and presentation while adhering diligently to therapeutic diet orders, texture modifications, and behavioral health safety protocols. This is a dynamic role essential in supporting the hospital’s mission to provide exceptional behavioral health care through every aspect of its service, including nutrition and dining.
