As a proud promoter of Indigenous culture and values, Shelly's Indigenous Bistro focuses on creating a welcoming environment that reflects its ethos while delivering an exceptional culinary experience. The restaurant prides itself on maintaining high standards in food quality, cleanliness, safety, and teamwork which resonates throughout its entire operation.

The role of Cook - Days at Shelly's Indigenous Bistro is a vital position within the kitchen team. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, Kitchen Lead, General Manager, or designate, the Cook supports daily kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, line support, catering preparation, inventory organization, and sanitation duties. Successful candidates will bring previous kitchen experience, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently, ensuring that all food preparation meets the restaurant’s high culinary and safety standards.

Furthermore, the cook must ensure proper food storage, labelling, dating, and FIFO rotation to guarantee the freshness and safety of ingredients. Operating kitchen equipment safely and reporting maintenance concerns, as well as supporting teamwork alongside cooks, supervisors, drivers, and front-end staff, are core to the role.

This position demands excellent physical stamina including extended standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. The cook will work during day shifts on weekdays, weekends, statutory holidays, and during operational peak periods including special catering events. This position represents a fantastic opportunity for individuals interested in working within an Indigenous business that values community, culture, quality, and culinary excellence while fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace environment.
