To support these operations, Rock City Gardens is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join its Food & Beverage team. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences that reflect the organization's mission and core values of courage, care, wonder, and excellence. This role is critical in maintaining food quality, safety, and operational efficiency within the kitchen. The Food & Beverage Cook will prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency in taste, appearance, and portion control to manage food costs effectively. The position requires a commitment to food safety and sanitation practices, contributing to outstanding health inspection results by adhering to all relevant standards and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

In this role, teamwork is paramount. The Cook will collaborate closely with kitchen partners and senior team leaders to support daily kitchen operations, inventory management, and stock organization. Communication skills and flexibility are important, as the position involves working in a fast-paced setting with variable hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events. The organization supports ongoing professional development and encourages candidates willing to receive training and obtain ServSafe certification. The hourly wage range for this position is competitive at 15 to 15.25 dollars per hour.

Job Requirements

  • minimum two years of previous experience in food service preferred
  • willingness to receive training and continue skill development
  • willingness to obtain ServSafe Certification
  • ability to read and follow recipes and operational documents
  • strong teamwork skills
  • ability to display a professional polite and engaging image
  • effective verbal communication skills
  • basic math skills
  • ability to provide a flexible schedule including nights weekends holidays and special events
  • ability to lift and or move up to 50 pounds
  • frequent walking standing stooping kneeling and crouching
  • ability to stand for extended periods during shifts

Job Duties
