The Cook position is an hourly role offering competitive wages ranging from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of food items according to standardized recipes and production guidelines. Your duties will cover everything from prepping ingredients by measuring and chopping to safely operating kitchen equipment like ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers. You will utilize various cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to deliver well-prepared dishes. Attention to detail is essential for arranging and garnishing plates, ensuring portions meet company standards, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of your workstation.

Job Requirements
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and/or walk and stand for extended periods
- willingness to wear uniforms and/or use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- compliance with Aramark safety policies and procedures
- adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- must be able to acquire food safety certification
- demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
- operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
- bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
