Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year food service experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid California Food Handlers Permit
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English
  • Basic math and accounting skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Basic oral and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare food by washing, processing, assembling, portioning, cooling, cooking, baking, packaging, storing and serving appropriate quantities according to specifications
  • Accurately read and interpret standardized recipes
  • Set up work and serving areas according to daily menu
  • Maintain work and serving areas in a clean, sanitary and safe condition
  • Safely operate kitchen equipment including mixers, slicers, processors, convection and combi ovens, tilt skillets, grills, chillers, warmers, coolers, and freezers
  • Pack and wrap food items following established procedures and portion control standards
  • Complete and maintain production records, time and temperature logs, transport records, and computerized food and beverage sales transactions
  • Follow cleaning responsibilities such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and restroom cleaning
  • Assist in preparing and serving food for special events
  • Attend meetings and professional development training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
