Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of directly related cooking experience
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work varied shifts including early mornings and afternoons
  • Physical stamina to handle kitchen duties
  • No specific licensure required

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
  • Completion of 1-3 years of applied trades training or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience in a related cooking role
  • Ability to follow dietary guidelines and safety standards
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual kitchen tasks

Job Duties

  • Prepare daily meals following prescribed menus and dietary guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas
  • Assist Lead Cook with food inventory and storage management
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food preparation
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Coordinate meal service times to meet patient and visitor needs
  • Support teamwork within the dietary department to achieve smooth operations
