Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of directly related cooking experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work varied shifts including early mornings and afternoons
- Physical stamina to handle kitchen duties
- No specific licensure required
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
- Completion of 1-3 years of applied trades training or equivalent
- 2-3 years of experience in a related cooking role
- Ability to follow dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual kitchen tasks
Job Duties
- Prepare daily meals following prescribed menus and dietary guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas
- Assist Lead Cook with food inventory and storage management
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food preparation
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Coordinate meal service times to meet patient and visitor needs
- Support teamwork within the dietary department to achieve smooth operations
