This role specifically seeks an experienced Cook to join the Encinitas team. The Cook will be responsible for coordinating and prepping a large volume of meals for patients, the cafeteria, and catering for special events. The position involves supporting safe food handling practices, volume food production, menu development and modification, meal assembly, portion control, inventory management, and ensuring infection control and sanitation compliance. Candidates must adhere to all established policies and procedures to meet stringent food and safety regulatory standards. The candidate will be an integral part of a food service operation that emphasizes high-quality food preparation within a healthcare setting.

Job Requirements
- Must be available to work varied shifts including weekends and Sundays
- Ability to coordinate and prepare large volume meals
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Must have Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate
- Six months of experience in quantity food preparation or graduation from culinary program
- Flexible and reliable work attendance
Job Qualifications
- Six months of experience in quantity food preparation or graduation from an approved culinary program
- Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate or ability to pass Food Handlers Test
- Experience in quantity food preparation in healthcare preferred
- ServSafe Certificate preferred
- Formal culinary or quantity cooking education preferred
Job Duties
- Coordinate and prepare a high volume of meals for patients, cafeteria, and special events
- Support food service operational systems including safe food handling and volume food production
- Assist in menu development and modification
- Assemble meals and control portions
- Manage inventory and ensure effective stock rotation
- Maintain infection control and sanitation compliance
- Follow all established policies and procedures to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance
