Job Description

The role offered is a Food Service Worker position supporting all aspects of restaurant operations under general supervision. This role involves performing various activities crucial to food preparation and presentation, adhering to specific menu requirements while maintaining high sanitation and safety standards. The position requires individuals to be versatile and adaptable to different culinary styles, ensuring quality service across multiple restaurant outlets. Working within a collaborative team environment, the Food Service Worker contributes to seamless kitchen operations by assisting with menu development, food setup, cooking, and service. The position demands attentiveness to food safety regulations such as temperature control, food rotation, and cleanliness of kitchen areas including refrigerators, freezers, and storage spaces.
Additional responsibilities include supporting training efforts, managing equipment and supply issues proactively, and exhibiting punctuality and regular attendance as essential duties. The Food Service Worker is expected to uphold tribal, federal, state, and local sanitation regulations to guarantee safe food handling practices are rigorously followed. Physical demands encompass activities such as balancing, crouching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods. The work environment involves both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to temperature extremes, noise, and other occupational hazards common to food service industries.

Job Requirements
- One year experience in restaurant or food service capacity
- Successful completion of the New Mexico Food Handlers course upon hire
- Ability to pass a stringent background investigation
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment and random drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent preferred
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of buffet hot and cold line, deli, and fine dining operating requirements

- Knowledge of minimum temperature requirements for food and drink preservation
- Knowledge of tribal, federal, state, and local sanitary regulations regarding food preparation, maintenance, and storage
Job Duties
- Assist in the development and preparation of menus, food set-up, service and cooking
- Follow prescribed menu in setting up hot and cold food lines, choose proper utensils and ensure appropriate temperatures for menu items
- Serve a range of hot and cold food items from counters and steam tables, add relishes and garnishes according to instructions, ensure appropriate portions are served
- Ensure thermometers are on hand and food temperature requirements are maintained
- Perform activities to provide cleanliness of the entire kitchen, including walk-in refrigerator, freezer and dry storage
- Maintain the highest standards of personal sanitation
- Open and or close as necessary or assigned
- Attend to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies, detect and ensure disposition of spoiled or unattractive foods, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions
- Assist in training personnel
- Know proper food and safe handling temperatures
- Use safety wear and gloves when appropriate
- Know proper food rotation procedures
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance according to assigned schedule
