The Food Prep Worker II role at Aramark is an essential position that supports the culinary operations by assisting cooks, chefs, or food service managers in preparing ingredients for recipes and various food service tasks. This role requires adherence to standardized recipes and production guidelines while strictly following food safety, handling, and sanitation protocols to maintain high standards of quality and safety. The Food Prep Worker II is responsible for preparing food items by measuring, weighing, chopping, trimming, mixing, and peeling ingredients, ensuring every step complies with Aramark’s rigorous standards. This role also includes setting up workstations with the necessary equipment and ingredients, properly storing food items, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and utensils.

Moreover, this position demands excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude toward guests, customers, clients, and coworkers. The Food Prep Worker II must adhere to Aramark’s safety policies, including personal protective equipment usage and food safety certifications. This position is physically demanding and may include tasks that involve lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous food prep experience preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
  • ability to follow safety protocols including usage of personal protective equipment
  • good interpersonal and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • previous food prep experience preferred
  • knowledge of various food prep methods, proper knife handling, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage preferred
  • must be able to obtain required food safety certification
  • demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely utilizes a variety of utensils including knives
  • arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
  • ensures security of company assets
