This is a full-time, on-site position located at the St. John’s Health Campus. The position reports directly to the Assistant Manager of Dietary and does not include supervisory responsibilities. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years high volume cooking experience
  • ability to interface positively with hospital personnel and coworkers
  • good communication, interpersonal, phone, and customer service skills
  • ability to adjust to fluctuating job demands and meet deadlines
  • ability to work independently
  • must be able to work 10 hour shifts
  • on-site work at St. John’s Health Campus
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • standing and walking 90 percent of shift
  • must pass annual diet test

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepares food for all meal service areas ensuring best taste and quality
  • prepares, cooks, holds and serves meals according to standardized recipes and health standards
  • uses production tallies to estimate food amounts and limit waste
  • demonstrates understanding of modified diets and adapts meals accordingly
  • preps food for the next day ensuring proper labeling and stock
  • assists with catering and special functions
  • prepares room service and cafeteria menu items timely and accurately
  • plans and prepares grill specials
  • ensures food is served on time and at correct temperatures
  • checks and manages delivery accuracy and stock rotation
  • maintains accurate temperature logs and reports discrepancies
  • maintains cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment
