Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalency required
  • one-year certificate from a college or technical school preferred
  • 3-6 months related experience in food preparation or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • customer service-focused with an outgoing personality
  • ability to multi-task and manage detail-oriented tasks
  • intermediate computer skills

Job Duties

  • prepare and cook food according to resident diet specifications menus and facility procedures
  • review menus prior to food preparation and ensure accurate portioning
  • direct and assist dietary staff in food preparation serving and cleaning
  • ensure sanitation of dishes utensils work areas and equipment
  • check meal trays for accuracy with diet cards
  • maintain proper storage of foods and supplies ensuring readiness for upcoming meals
  • assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies
  • review diet changes and adjust menus as necessary
  • collaborate with dietary manager and team to maintain a safe organized and efficient kitchen
  • perform additional duties as assigned
