Job Description
Nestled at the base of Cougar Mountain in Issaquah, Washington, Timber Ridge at Talus is a distinguished senior living community that offers a lifestyle unlike any other in the East Seattle area. This community is home to well-traveled and outdoor-loving seniors who enjoy socializing over meals, hiking nearby trails, and soaking up the spectacular Pacific Northwest views. As the area's first Silver LEED-certified Life Plan Community, Timber Ridge at Talus demonstrates deep commitment to sustainability combined with an exceptional living experience. The campus and natural setting complement the residents' appreciation for nature and active lifestyles. With an all-inclusive lifestyle, superior hospitality, and a breathtaking location, this community stands out as a premier choice for senior living.
Currently, Timber Ridge at Talus is seeking an experienced Cook to join its Culinary Services department within the Health Center. This is a full-time role with shifts from 7 am to 3:30 pm or 11 am to 7:30 pm, offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $21 to $26. The Cook will be responsible for preparing all food items according to standardized recipes while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and nutrition for the senior residents. This position requires expertise in cooking methods including sautéing, frying, grilling, steaming, boiling, braising, and roasting, ensuring that every dish served meets both taste and presentation excellence. The successful candidate will have at least two years of cooking experience in settings such as hotels, restaurants, or clubs. Strong communication skills, effective planning, and knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance are essential.
This role is perfect for an individual passionate about culinary arts and interested in contributing to the well-being and enjoyment of seniors through delicious and nutritious meals. In addition to daily food preparation, the Cook will also coordinate food production to align with meal serving times, carefully manage kitchen inventory, and maintain a clean, safe workstation that complies with hygiene and dress code standards. Opportunities for career growth and continuous professional training are supported, making this an excellent environment for someone eager to advance within the food service industry in a community-centered setting. The Cook will be part of a motivating and fun team that values engagement and respect. Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, and more, ensure a supportive work environment aimed at promoting both personal and professional growth.
