The campus atmosphere is vibrant and full of opportunities, making it a great place for a career in healthcare, especially for those passionate about serving and making a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults.

The role available is for a Cook/Culinary Assistant within Meadowview's Culinary Department, a team highly respected by both staff and residents. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to grow their career in a healthcare setting, with generous benefits and on-the-job training provided.

As a Cook, you will use your culinary skills to prepare and cook meals adhering to recipes and quality standards, ensuring residents receive nutritious and high-quality food. The role emphasizes customer service, requiring interaction not only with residents but also employees and family members, fostering a positive and respectful environment. Culinary Assistants help to serve meals, assist with food preparation, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas. There are no late-night shifts, making this position suitable for persons seeking stable daytime hours.

The position requires active communication skills, the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and basic math knowledge. Experience in commercial cooking or food preparation is necessary to meet the culinary demands of the role. The team-oriented work environment at Meadowview promotes collaboration and mutual respect, supporting each individual's contribution to the community's overall well-being.

Joining the Meadowview of Johnston means becoming part of a dedicated nonprofit organization that truly makes a difference in the lives of older adults. Cassia, the parent organization, offers competitive pay with experience-based raises, tuition assistance, student loan forgiveness, and comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision plans for full-time employees. Additional perks include an employee assistance program with free counseling/coaching, pet insurance, and a generous paid time off (PTO) policy along with retirement plans 403(b)/401(k) with employer match.
