The job entails tasks such as measuring, mixing, preparing, and cooking ingredients, as well as operating kitchen equipment like ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers. Additionally, cooks arrange and garnish food to meet aesthetic standards and properly store leftovers following strict food safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • knowledge of food preparation principles and food safety regulations
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • good interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • willingness to wear uniforms and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations including accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • ensure security of company assets
