Job Qualifications

  • Passed an approved food handler's or ServSafe course as required by County, State and/or Community policy
  • Possess strong organizational skills
  • Be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in Standard English
  • Maintain proper hygiene
  • Professional in dress and presentation
  • Attend required in-services/workshops to further education and skills
  • Be drug-free and able to pass urinalysis drug screening
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Mature individual with positive personality
  • Team-oriented and detail oriented

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals that are appealing and tasty and served at the right temperature per the menu and schedule
  • Prepare special limited diets per policy and physician orders
  • Identify menu errors and make appropriate corrections as needed
  • Bring necessary changes to the dietary supervisor's attention
  • Properly store, date, and rotate food per food handling guidelines
  • Follow kitchen cleaning schedule
  • Relate to residents in a courteous, empathetic, and cooperative manner
  • Keep environment safe and clean
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
