Job Description
Gulf Coast Restaurant Group is a leading provider in the hospitality industry, widely recognized for delivering high-quality dining experiences across its many locations. Established with a commitment to superior service and culinary excellence, GCRG operates a variety of restaurants and eateries that cater to diverse customer preferences and offer innovative dining options. Known for its inclusive culture and dedication to upholding equal employment opportunities, GCRG values each team member’s contribution and is committed to fostering a respectful, supportive work environment free from discrimination and harassment.
The Cook position within Gulf Coast Restaurant Group is a vital role focused on food preparation and kitchen operations in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment. This role involves preparing and directing the preparation of meals in compliance with all sanitation, personal hygiene, and health standards. Cooks at GCRG are expected to strictly adhere to established food production programs and procedures to ensure the highest quality of food is served. Moreover, they play an essential part in minimizing waste, loss, and fraud by making appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment.
This position requires proficiency in preparing foods according to standard recipes and special diet orders, effectively managing food portions, and properly storing food to maintain safety and freshness. The cook’s role also includes maintaining a clean and organized work station, performing daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance of equipment, and conducting food temperature checks before service. These responsibilities ensure both compliance with health regulations and an enjoyable dining experience for customers.
Because the position operates in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, smoke, and various kitchen equipment, it requires physical stamina and the ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The cook must be adaptable to working long hours, including frequent weekend shifts, and demonstrate flexibility and composure under pressure. Frequent travel may be required for meetings.
At Gulf Coast Restaurant Group, the Cook role is designed to foster collaboration, customer focus, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in food quality and kitchen safety. With no supervisory responsibilities, the cook reports to supervisors who oversee equipment maintenance and kitchen operations. Gulf Coast Restaurant Group is committed to the professional growth of its employees and offers a supportive atmosphere where all team members can thrive. The company welcomes candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and prefers those with prior restaurant experience. This position embodies GCRG's values of quality, teamwork, and dedication to exceptional service.
