Job Description
Delaware North is a global leader in hospitality and food service, known for managing a diverse range of operations including iconic sports arenas, national parks, casinos, and various entertainment venues. Founded over 100 years ago as a family-owned company, Delaware North has developed a rich legacy built on quality, innovation, and community focus. The company values its team members by offering a supportive work environment, comprehensive benefits, and plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth. Their commitment to sustainability, local sourcing, and delivering exceptional guest experiences characterizes their approach, especially at high-profile properties like the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.
Delaware North manages the food and beverage services at Climate Pledge Arena, which is the home of the NHL's Seattle Kraken, WNBA's Seattle Storm, and a host for premier live music and entertainment events. This state-of-the-art, 740,000 square-foot arena is notable for being the first net zero-certified arena in the world, powered entirely by renewable energy. The Climate Collective, Delaware North's concept at this venue, highlights the freshest and most locally focused sustainable menus in the sports and entertainment industry, reflecting the company's forward-thinking philosophy and dedication to environmental stewardship.
They are currently hiring seasonal Cooks to join their team at the Climate Pledge Arena. This role is ideal for passionate culinary professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and desire to hone their culinary skills while showcasing creativity in menu preparation. As a Cook, you will be an essential visible leader within the kitchen, responsible for preparing food that meets strict quality standards, adhering to portion sizes, following health regulations, and maintaining sanitation standards. The role demands a hands-on leader who ensures the freshness and quality of all menu items, manages kitchen equipment safely, and upholds departmental policies consistently.
The seasonal Cook position offers an hourly wage of $27.40 and comes with a wide range of benefits designed to support team members' well-being and career advancement. These benefits include weekly pay, flexible work schedules, employee discounts, and training and development opportunities. Eligible employees may also receive health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and holidays, paid parental bonding leave, employee assistance programs, and tuition or professional certification reimbursement—helping individuals advance their careers while maintaining work-life balance.
The Cook role involves preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, managing inventory, and adhering to waste control guidelines. Physical stamina is essential as the job requires standing and walking throughout shifts, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating various kitchen equipment. Shifts include evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic environment of an arena hosting sports and entertainment events.
Working at Delaware North means being part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences and shaping the future of hospitality. With operations spanning the globe and opportunities in varied sectors such as restaurants, hotels, gaming, and retail, Delaware North offers unique pathways to career success. They are committed to diversity and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants regardless of race, religion, gender, or any other protected status.
Joining Delaware North is joining a community that values collaboration, growth, and the pursuit of culinary excellence in one of the most iconic venues in the country. This is an opportunity not only to work but to thrive in a supportive environment that honors your contributions while spurring your personal and professional development. Whether you're an experienced cook or seeking to elevate your skills, Delaware North invites you to be part of a passionate team at Climate Pledge Arena, where great times and great places come together.
