The role of Cook at Summit's correctional facility in Anoka, Minnesota, is a full-time, onsite position designed for culinary professionals who are passionate about preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced and highly structured environment. This position goes beyond traditional restaurant cooking, requiring dedication to safety standards and food handling procedures essential to maintaining smooth and secure operations within a correctional setting. As a Cook, you will work closely with a motivated and energetic kitchen staff to prepare delicious, well-portioned meals from scratch, ensuring quality control and creative presentation that meets the facility's strict guidelines.
The role demands an individual with at least one year of culinary experience in high-volume, scratch-cooking environments, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail. You will engage in a variety of duties including food preparation, quality control, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, proper food storage, and adherence to food safety policies. Experience with customer service and the ability to use various kitchen equipment and tools is essential. Additionally, applicants must be able to pass a background check as required by the correctional facility’s policies.
