We are currently seeking a dedicated, experienced cook to join our team at the Stillwater, Minnesota location. This position is full-time and onsite, offering an hourly wage of $20.00. The cook role at Summit is both challenging and rewarding. You will work alongside a motivated, energetic kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality meals through scratch cooking methods. The ideal candidate is passionate about food preparation, creative in presentation, and meticulous in maintaining kitchen operations while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully in a correctional facility kitchen division, where your efforts help maintain food safety and satisfaction in a specialized environment.
As a cook at Summit, your responsibilities will include ensuring quality and portion control, preparing ingredients and meals properly, and creatively presenting dishes to maintain high standards. You will play an essential role in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization, ensuring that all food is stored correctly and safely. Following established recipes, policies, and safe food handling procedures is mandatory to guarantee the food's safety and quality we deliver every day. This is a role that requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to multitask efficiently, and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service within the unique setting of a correctional food service environment.
Summit values employees who bring prior culinary experience especially in high-volume, quality-driven kitchens that emphasize scratch cooking techniques. Experience with various kitchen equipment and tools, alongside familiarity with proper culinary methods and standards, is essential. We are looking for candidates who thrive in dynamic environments and maintain composure under pressure. Customer service skills are also important given the interactions within the service process. Having a food handler's certification is an asset but not mandatory. Summit offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that supports the health, financial security, and growth of our employees.
By joining Summit, you will become part of a respected company that prioritizes fostering employee growth and providing meaningful work opportunities in the foodservice industry specific to corrections. This is a chance to apply your culinary skills in a specialized foodservice area, combine creativity with responsibility, and be part of a team that values safety, quality, and professional development.
