Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent education
- Minimum 2 years cooking experience preferably in high volume environments
- Food handlers certification required
- Ability to stand and perform well-paced mobility for up to four hours
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures both cold (-10°F) and hot (+110°F)
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per company standards
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Compliance with hotel safety and security policies
- Ability to follow instructions and perform all assigned duties
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- Minimum 2 years cooking experience preferably in high volume environments
- Food handlers certification
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Basic computer skills
- Basic computational ability
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods such as grilling, baking, and boiling
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary workplace language
- Excellent leadership and customer relations skills
- Detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy
- Self-driven and able to work independently
Job Duties
- Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method in a timely and consistent manner
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment like blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles
- Set up station with predetermined mise en place required to service all functions
- Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, boilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
- Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
- Perform all other duties assigned by manager or supervisor
