Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent education
- Minimum of 2 years cooking experience preferably in high volume settings
- Food Handlers certification
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and stand for up to 4 hours
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and push/pull equipment up to 250 lbs
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Must maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as per Azul Hospitality standards
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Compliance with all safety, security, and company policies
- Must be physically capable of performing the job's demands
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- Minimum 2 years cooking experience preferably in high volume settings
- Food Handlers certification
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary workplace language
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent leadership and customer relations skills
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Basic computer skills
- Basic computational ability
- Experience using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking methods such as grilling, baking, and boiling
Job Duties
- Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method in a timely and consistent manner
- Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles
- Set up station with predetermined mise en place required to service all functions
- Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, boilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
- Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
- Perform additional duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
